I'm having a lovely, lazy morning. It's gorgeous to have nothing I Have To Do urgently, to be able to sleep as late as I want without guilt, to read the comics, to curl up in a chair, still in pajamas, with oatmeal and a fleece blanket. Horace seems to have caught the bug, too, because he was on my feet this morning when I woke up, and he's still on my bed now. Either he's feeling languid and lazy like me, or he's jealous of my affections, or possibly both.
In fact, I do have things to do, but it's like nothing compared to the stress and pressure of this past quarter. The things I'm going to do for the next two weeks are things I want to do, not things I have to do for one reason or another, which is a refreshing change. What's that you say? My to-do list? Well, since you asked so nicely...
- Redesign this site; fixed positioning was nice for a while, but I've got to either figure out something for the vertical navigation bar on my blog or change the whole site, because too darn many people are using IE. Besides, it's bothersome that the scrollwheel doesn't work with fixed positioning.
- Sub-item: update MT on Librarian-blog to 2.62 or whatever we're up to now, enable threaded comments, and play with templates so it all looks nicer.
- Design handy-dandy wishlist system, so I have the convenience of a web-based wishlist but don't favor a specific vendor. This system will possibly include functionality to track books and CDs, but the information I want to track for these items is so different that I'm not sure how the system would work, or whether it would simply be better to have them be separate systems. I had the wishlist idea a while ago, but the 540 project has taught me to think things through before starting, and not to go
oooh shiny
so much. - Volunteer at Mountlake Terrace Elementary School library, as I haven't had any time to do for the past 2-3 weeks at least.
- Re-install Debian. I've actually already got a Debian installation that boots fine; I think I had trouble with video drivers and such, so I figured I'd just start over from scratch.
- Bonus: Get penggy (was pengfork, was pengaol) working so that I'm not tied to Windoze any more
- Final preparations for HTML/accessibility/CSS workshop, which is scheduled for the first week of April. Also, prepare PHP workshop for next quarter some time, maybe end of April.
- Apply for jobs. Oh yeah, that.
