Obstacat

Many cats live along the road that I take to the bus stop. This can be a problem, because if they're out, I am often tempted to pet them. (Luckily Jeff is less distressed than Kevin when I'm compelled to pet strange cats.) Yesterday morning as I was walking this road on my way to class, I heard an insistent miauling, like Goldie when she's upstairs and wants me to come pet her. It was a little cat, who stopped crying when I petted her and started up again when I eventually left. It's a wonder that I ever get anywhere, but I managed to catch my bus just on time, in spite of the delay.

Every time I walked by that spot yesterday, the cat was there. That evening when Jeff and I walked that road together, there were about five cats on the sidewalk, including the loud one, and of course I had to stop and pet every one of them. I think they have started to recognize us.

Sounds like your natural cat-attracting powers are at work again. You are still one of the only people our Spike was ever willing to sit with :-)

BTW, I don't know if I sent the mail to the wrong address or if you've just been busy (which is fine), but we will be in Seattle next week. Email me and we'll talk about when you are free -- we really want to see you and would love to meet Jeff.
