I feel like I'm slipping through the days by the skin of my teeth. I'm getting just enough done but never enough to make me really happy about my productivity. It's frustrating. Take today, for example. I've done almost no homework (skimmed through a couple of articles for Wednesday, that's all), but I did a lot of hand washing. That's a good thing because not only can I now wear those things, they're not sitting in the corner and making me feel guilty for not taking care of them.
Yesterday in Children's Materials class I gave the four booktalks that I was supposed to do last week but didn't because I stayed home sick. (That was a bad week; out of eleven hours of class, I attended only one.) They went fairly well, I think, and hopefully I managed to communicate my enthusiasm for these particular books. For those who don't know, that's what booktalking is—telling people about books you love, so that they'll want to read them too. I'm not very good at it, or maybe I'm just mediocre in comparison to Chapple Langemack, who could get me to read an auto manual if she tried.
At least Jeff and I are still eating well. Last week I bought a PCC membership, so we made a huge grocery run yesterday morning, because members get 10% off on the 15th and 16th of every month. We came home and put chicken fricassee in the slow cooker, and it was okay but turned out puzzlingly dry. (As Jeff noted, the fact that we complain about slightly dry chicken says something about our standard for food.) This morning, instead of eggs and sausage as usual, we made waffles from a Nourishing Traditions recipe that requires soaking whole-wheat flour in buttermilk overnight. The waffles were heavier and softer than normal waffles, and they had a subtle sour flavor, but I like them, even more than regular waffles.
Okay, back to work. Bah.

I feel like I have to agree with this one. http://www.ai-ling.com/blog/archives/2003_11.html#000072
(I was nice enough to make it open a new window . . . ;))

You obviously didn't read my comment documentation. target is not one of the allowed attributes for the <a> tag! (It's not an allowed XHTML.)
Oh, and I hate new windows with a passion.

Hmm. I always liked it when people opened new windows--I tend to close windows when I'm done with something, and I always scold myself for it because I was surfing and of course had not made note of URLs at all . . . so I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. But you can still cut and paste the link . . . right? I won't use "target" again on your weblog. :)
And yes, I didn't read the entire comment documentation. I noticed <a href> and that was it. Didn't look at attributes. :)
