This morning, life is back to the usual routine, after having been stretched and squished in sundry ways during the last few weeks. You see, I worked 20 hours a week during November, which was nice because of money but meant that I spent only the bare minimum of time on schoolwork. (Not good.)
My first end-of-quarter major assignment, a reading journal for my children's materials class, was due on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, which meant that over those last few days I was scrambling to find books and articles. The next Wednesday I had a group presentation in my digital libraries class, about what we had (ahem) been doing over the whole quarter. On Friday the second major assignment of cataloging class was due, on Saturday I had a group presentation in children's materials, this Thursday the final write-up for digital libraries was due, and Friday evening the final huge project for cataloging was due.
It was a major push, one thing after another, and it really didn't help that I had things that I had to do at work as well. I took a couple of days off work, and worked from home last Monday, but it was still insane.
Over the weekend, I sort of died. I let myself do what I felt like, which mostly involved cooking and brailling and playing Civilization III. It wasn't incredibly restful, but it was a nice change, and I think I kind of have to go through a vegetable stage before I can be sane again.
This morning, life is back to the Monday routine. Off to work!
