Jeff and I went to his nephew's third birthday party this afternoon, and it was lovely. We were unfortunately late, because I had forgotten to double-check when the party was, and we'd also forgotten to secure a birthday present. We swung by the University Bookstore on the way and chose a lovely little book about the solar system. It's hard to write space books for children that young, I'm sure, but this one managed nicely, with clear illustrations, informational text but not too much of it, and reusable stickers at the back. Jeff could hardly give it up...
When the birthday boy ripped the paper off his new book, he opened it immediately (like a good little bookworm) and flipped through all the pages. Then he closed it, hugged it to his chest, and said in a satisfied tone, That's all you need!
