Winter quarter is over, and I'm starting to feel human again. I am grateful that I have two weeks of effective vacation between quarters, because if I didn't, I would be quite insane. As it is, I am merely eccentric. Or maybe not. I probably don't have enough money to be eccentric.
The last of my winter-quarter assignments was finished and turned in at the beginning of last week, but I spent most of the week slaving away on my portfolio. I finally got a rough draft up last Thursday; my advisor said it needed major revisions but that I have all the evidence I need, which is the hard part. The evidence is the stuff I've done, which is supposed to prove that I'm worthy of graduation. I talked to her yesterday, and I've now finished my second round of revisions. I hope it's now good enough for her to sign off on it.
On Friday I got an offer of an interview from SPL, which is both exciting and terrifying. Obviously it's what I want, but the stakes are somewhat higher even than my interview with KCLS last year. Oh dear.
Jeff and I have been doing all sorts of exciting things like cooking and cleaning and sleeping. We now have about 16 quarts of chicken stock in the refrigerator and freezer, which will last us through the next quarter (when we won't have enough time to make stock). We made three chickens into stock and used the leftover meat for chicken supreme and chicken curry. This week, I think even Jeff can't eat fast enough to get through our leftovers.
We've also started jogging again, after nearly a nearly year-long lapse. We started running together last spring about this time and stopped because felt like we didn't have time during spring quarter. Now I have running shoes, and we've gone jogging three times since last Saturday. We're also planning to take a day hike on Friday, somewhere in the north Cascades. I'm excited.
Vacation used to be a time for me to sleep and rest a lot. Now it's a time for doing all the things that I don't get time for during the rest of my life!

Not enough money to be eccentric? What is your idea of eccentricity?
Unfortunately, mine has to do with elipses but that's a different story.
