Black and blue

Sun, 23 May 2004

The other day, when I was fiddling around with my templates and style sheets, one of the things I did was to separate out colors and layout into different files. This is very convenient because it means that I can add color stylesheets without having to duplicate the layout. Of course, if I change any color styles, I have to edit each color file, but at least the layout is centralized.

(By the way, if you're using Firefox, use the little stylesheet button at the bottom left of the window and select Basic Theme instead of one of the named styles. You'll get my layout without any colors! Completely useless but fun!)

Laura & Emily

Today I took advantage of my stylesheet configuration by creating a new, blue style. I originally intended it to be for Emily's birthday, but I decided that I want to make it my primary style for a little while. Rad, isn't it? I made the background image a few years ago, from Emily's jeans in this photo.

Speaking of styles, I thought of editing the page I wrote about Emily a few years ago, changing not the content but the styles, making it sleeker and more readable. It wouldn't be a bad idea, but I decided not to. Somehow it would feel like rewriting the past. I created that page in rawness and pain, and so I will leave it raw.
