I had a really good job interview yesterday at KCLS. The interview was for the reference librarian job pool, and although it consisted of two 45-minute interviews, it was pretty relaxed. I had really nice conversations with one of the associate directors and a branch manager, and I think I got across what I wanted to say (mainly that I have great customer service skills) while also learning a lot from what these two experienced librarians had to say about the library world. Even if by some fluke I don't get accepted into the pool, just talking to them was a valuable expenditure of my time.
I wore my elegant pinstripe suit to work for the interview and got a lot of compliments on it from my co-workers. Renita appreciated how perfectly my shoes matched my suit, but unfortunately those beautiful shoes aren't made for walking. I would have been okay except that I've got a 12-minute walk from the bus stop to the Service Center. I developed a blister in the morning, and it just got bigger throughout the day. It's doing much better now, but I've learned my lesson. Next time I'll wear my sneakers and change into high heels when I've reached my destination!
