A fellow MHC alumna was both the cause and the means for my move to Seattle two years ago. When I mentioned that I was considering librarianship, she told me about the iSchool and how much she enjoyed it her time there. I applied because of her enthusiasm, and then I accepted for the same reason and also because she had offered to let me stay with her while I looked for somewhere to live.
I stayed with Caro and her husband Erik for three weeks while I looked for somewhere to live, and then I barely saw them for two years. I think I saw Caro twice over my first year at the iSchool, but the last time I saw her was in about May of last year.
Yesterday Jeff came and picked me up after work, and we drove to Caro and Erik's house and thence to a nice little family Mexican restaurant with good food and good conversational atmosphere. We made good use of that atmosphere and were unable to pull ourselves away until slightly too late in the evening (the next morning being the first day of class for Jeff and a work day for the rest of us), but we parted with assurances that we will have to do this again soon.
