It looks like Gmail is putting pressure on Hotmail, because Hotmail just increased my storage limit from 2MB to 250MB. This, after my storage space had steadily dwindled over the six years I've had that account. Gee guys, don't be obvious about it or anything.
And Gmail is still officially
only in beta!

I see you are now being deluged with casino comment spam. Welcome to the club.
I had to disable my comments. I'm going to try to re-naming mt-comments.cgi when I get the time.

Yeah... 234 spams counts as a deluge.
On the other hand, my filter caught all of it. :-) I made sure that it had got everything correct (and told it you weren't a spammer) and then used direct SQL to delete the rest. I haven't bothered rebuilding the entries; I figure they'll get spammed again soon enough.
Watch this comment get marked as spam. *sigh*
Stephen says:
I hadn't had too much trouble with spam after I changed the throttle seconds, but then-- BAM!!-- 343 spam comments! Apparently, they are using rotating IPs. I banned all the IPs, and had no further trouble, and then got hit again a month later with 125. At that point I disabled the comments. (Actually, I tried a fix that didn't work, but had the effect of disabling the comments; so I just shrugged, tired of messing with it). That night, judging from my site's raw log, the robots came back and tried their best to leave another couple of hundred spams, to no avail.
Ironically, while the spammers were able to spam me, they were doomed to fail utterly at their purpose. They were trying to up their search-engine ranking, but my comment/individual-archives are meta-tagged to exclude search engines.
