It occurs to me that I forgot to mention on this blog that I am now unemployed and have been for a few weeks. My temporary-but-extended-umpteen-times employment at KCLS ended on July 31. I was not terribly happy about leaving, but like all changes, it has its advantages. For example, I now have more time to job-hunt and catch up with world news.
Like all workplaces, KCLS was not without its warts, but I remember it with fondness nevertheless.
I think the worst thing about not working there any more is the finger-itch when I'm at a branch, being helped by a circulation staff member, and Millennium plays up or something. My helper-instincts don't want to remember that I'm a patron now and it's just not Done to show the staff how to use their system.

Not that you are dying to work in south Texas, but there will be 2 openings this fall where I work.
