I promised photos over two months ago, but I never got around to taking them. This is at least partially because the main cardboard-box island never disappeared; we were never able to unpack the books into bookshelves because we didn't buy any bookshelves. In the end this was just as well because now we don't have to bother repacking the books.
An optimist would say that everything works out in the end. A fatalist would say this shows unpacking is pointless. I'm not sure which I believe; maybe both.
In any case, I've taken a handful of photos that more or less show the beauty of the rooms, if not of the things in them. I'm glad I thought to do it now, because in a few minutes someone's coming to take away the kitchen table and chairs, my dresser (with eight drawer-holes and seven drawers), and the coffee table with one leg fallen off (and two others actively falling). When those are gone, it'll really start to feel like we're leaving.
By the way, if you happen to know anyone who's looking for a great one-bedroom apartment with a view for $910/month, let me know. I had to break my lease in order to move to California, so it would be great to get someone in the apartment soon. Besides, it's too beautiful an apartment to waste.
